Big congratulations to Jess and Eddie! Because of COVID-19 and it’s setbacks, their big day was a long time coming. The happy couple officially booked with me back in June of 2020, originally at the Cable Mountain Lodge. Due to all of the complications, travel restrictions, and ensuring safety, the wedding venue, plans, and guest count changed. We weren’t sure of much during the midst of Covid, but the three of us were sure of one thing: their big day was certain to be a celebration with their loved ones reflecting their story, love, and adventures to come. And just you wait to see what they had in store. Even with all of the craziness that went on.... it finally happened, and these two are officially HUSBAND + WIFE!!
I’m going to rewind the story a few years back before I was involved. Jess and Eddie met approximately 13 years ago on MySpace! I don’t think it’s quite old enough that everyone has forgotten about it, but by chance I’m catching the generation pre-MySpace, it was the website. We’re talking about the website of all websites from about 2005-2008ish. Everybody had it and it ran similar to Facebook. The couple connected there, became friends, and about 3 years later made it official. The growing continued for about 9 years until Eddie popped the question in Zion National Park, where the couple decided to take the rest of time on together.
Eddie chose the sentimental location of Zion to propose, as it is a location dear to their heart. This couple is daring and willing to take on any adventure that arises. They enjoy national parks, camping, outdoor activities, and have even gone alien-hunting as the best man stated in his toast!
Do you want to know the best part of their story? On their first date, Jess was wearing a Star Wars shirt. And as it turns out, her and Eddie shared that love. The movie became a sentimental bonding experience for the couple. And I’m talking, nearly the center of their growth. As Jess’s mom reminisced during her toast, she explained how they’ve grown and her gratitude to have been involved and able to watch their relationship bloom through different memories. One of them being lightsaber fighting. This leads me to the reasoning behind their color scheme and choice of theme for their ceremony and dinner.
Jess and Eddie chose to have a - get this - STAR WARS THEMED WEDDING!
They had every little detail planned and it could not have turned out more elegant and original. And talk about something unique?! Jess even walked down the aisle to the Star Wars theme song, joining Eddie in a Darth Vader tie.
Due to their passion for different escapades, they chose to tie the knot at Wright Family Ranch, a private and serene location near Zion National Park and got married on June 18th, 2021 - Their 10 year anniversary. They kept the group small, consisting of 15 of their closest friends and family to keep it individual and exclusive.
After hugs from her father, Jess and Eddie stood under the cloud-covered sun. This created an outstanding shine on the large and vast mountains of Southern Utah and Zion National park. The view blended with their wooden ceremony arch to create a breathtaking backdrop for a perfect vow exchange. The couple gave us a glimpse into their story of growth and love while interlocking hands, embracing the start of the marriage.
After the ceremony was sealed with a kiss, it was followed by photos of the couple and guests attending, which then led straight into dinner! Eddie contributed by dedicating much of his time to 3D printing most of their tabletop decorations. Star Wars decor of course. This is when champagne was presented, and toasts were open to the audience. After reminiscing, conversation, and laughter died down, the couple chuckled as they attempted to cut their Star Wars-themed wedding cake. It may have been a little messy, but they got the job done! And finally, as the last event for the evening, dances began. First, Jess and Eddie. Next, Jess and her father, and to end it all, Eddie and his mother finished with their dance.
The light at golden hour created the most magnificent glow to complete the night. Jess and Eddie had fun with her bridesmaids while taking photos and laughing together.
At sunset, everyone said goodnight and wished the couple a happy and joyous life by lighting the sky with astounding and profound purple to blue coloring and unique lighting.
It was truly an honor to attend this stunning, intimate, and individualized evening of celebration. As their coordinator, I was able to bring their entire vision to life so that they could focus on each other and their families, making their elopement celebration one for the books. Their love was profoundly present the entire evening, and I look forward to watching their love continue to mature.
Love these two to the Death Star and Back! ;)
Eventfully, Jacqueline
