10 Wedding Tips For Your Partner!

Your Best Friend said YES! While most couples have one person that tend to take the lead on the planning, their partner tend to have a more chill experience than their counterparts during the planning process and on their wedding day.

Let me talk to your partner for a second here..... "Your part doesn’t end by springing a romantic proposal. Your partner needs you to be present, involved, and on top of your parts of the wedding. After all, this is the beginning of the rest of your lives together. Being able to lean on you and count on you during the process and knowing that you’ve got her back will set you up for a gorgeous start to your new adventure!"

Here are 10 wedding tips for your partner to enjoy the planning experience AND wedding day right alongside you!

  • Your Opinions and Thoughts Matter: Sure, culturally speaking it’s normal for the 'bride' to take on many of the tasks of the wedding planning, however, maybe there are things that really matter to you. Having your own thoughts and opinions and verbalizing them will really help her feel like you care and that you have her back throughout the process. Plus it’s BOTH of your day. Your feelings, opinions and thoughts matter…after all, you’re a team!

  • Be Supportive: Planning a wedding is no joke. You will make important decisions together that you will look back on for the rest of your lives together. Make sure you’re asking her what kind of support they need throughout the process. That could look like a weekly date night doing something fun to get your minds off the process, a shoulder to cry on when things don’t work out exactly as planned, or maybe running her a bath and letting them have an hour alone in peace to decompress. Showing support and care to each other during stressful times during your wedding planning process will be great practice that can be applied after your beautiful wedding day!

  • Get a Good Night’s Sleep : Remember to prioritize rest and sleep leading up to your big day. Taking care of YOU also means taking care of your partner as well. The two of you are the ultimate priority on your wedding day, so being well rested and rejuvenated despite wanting to visit with others or attend that last night bachelor event, will ultimately result in your and your partner having a better day!

  • Clothing and Appearance Details : Sure, you might not need to worry about getting your hair and makeup done, but looking your best should be one of your top priorities on your day. That fresh shower, pressed suit/dress/jumpsuit, tie or bow tie/accessories, and those polished shoes will make a statement with your beloved as soon as she sees you. Make sure to do things like practice tying your tie, break in your shoes, and choosing the right belt for your trousers ahead of time so you are ready to go on your wedding day!

  • Write Your Vows/Speech Ahead of Time : These are some of the most important and meaningful words you will ever utter to another human being. Make sure you take quiet and reflective time ahead of your day to really sink into what you want to say to the person you are committing your life to. It doesn't have to be fancy or extravagant (unless you want it to), but what they will hear is your heart in each and every word. Now is the time to tap into those feelings and emotions and really let them out!

  • Prepare Your Wedding Party with your Expectations : You want your best people to be present and ready to go with all of their attire on and fly as hell. Make sure you give a time AHEAD of the actual time of departure so all your groomsmen will be ready to roll at the REAL time you need to leave. Of course, celebrating can get rowdy at times, but make sure everyone is set to go at least 30 minutes before your departure time with everything they need. Make an itinerary if you need to and set expectations on what you expect ahead of time.

  • Pack an Emergency Kit : Guaranteed your partner has one ready to go, but emergency kits on your wedding day are just as crucial for the groom as it is for the bride. Bring a small bag with some snacks, electrolytes, water, a toothbrush, paste and floss, deodorant, mouthwash and gum or mints.

  • Give Your Rings to a Responsible Person in Your Wedding Party : Make sure to choose the most responsible human being in your entourage to take great care of your rings before your ceremony. This doesn’t have to be the traditional best man. A lot of photographers will want to take flat lay pictures with the rings ahead of time so make sure you have tabs on where they are and who they will be with at all times.

  • Spend Quality Time with Your Partner : Family and college friends have flown in from all over to celebrate your big day. It’s a party. A celebration. You are one person and you want to spend time with ALL THE PEOPLE, but don’t forget that regardless of everyone else, your focus should be mostly on your bride. Make sure to take some quiet moments with her throughout your day to connect. Maybe plan this ahead of time so you don’t get swept away in the day’s activities without really getting time to connect with the one who matters the most.

  • Above all, HAVE FUN! : Congratulations! This day should be a fun and beautiful experience. Cherish it. Absorb it all in. Dance your heart out. Kiss your stunning spouse. Savor each and every moment of your day. So many people stress so much over their wedding day, but now is the time to really sink in, relax and enjoy!
